Actually, we're just assigned to look for the ethical principles but you know what, what i found was not just the ethical principles in nursing, but the real meaning of LOVE.
John Q is the story about a Father who hostage a hospital because of his dying son--his son needs a heart transplant as soon as possible or else he will die. The family of John Q has no enough money for the transplant, they did fund raising and all and yet the money is still not enough for the surgery. They need a down payment of $75000 and a whole payment of $250000 and because John Q and his family has no means to pay the bills, the hospital asked and pushed them to discharge Mike. (The son of John Q)
John Q, hopeless and down,thought that he has no choice.
Knowing that hostaging the hospital is a great crime and can put him into too much danger, he still did. He is so willing to do anything, even let himself be killed just to save his son.
For me, Real love is sacrificing everything, even your own life for the sake of the person you love. Just like what Jesus did. He took the shame and pain, He carried and died on the cross to save us, to save me, to save you. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8.
